For better administration of criminal justice, the needs of the litigants must be properly communicated to the Court. Procedural Law which deals with the administration of justice in criminal matters is laid down in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, and the Criminal Rules of Practice. Every application that is filed in the Court under the relevant provisions has to adhere to the statutory prescriptions as laid down in the said provisions. A comprehensive book like the present one containing formats of applications and petitions that can be presented before the Criminal Court is highly necessary for any Lawyer practicing on the criminal side. This book is in its 6th edition. The previous edition of this book was published in the year 2012 and it was authored by Sri. Alert Varghese, Advocate, High Court of Kerala. I have made earnest endeavors in revising this book to make this book more handy. I sincerely hope that this book will be of great use to Lawyers and litigants who seek justice before Criminal Courts. There are chances that some errors might have crept into this book despite my earnest efforts. I would be much obliged if any such errors are noticed and brought to my notice. It can be rectified in future editions.
