This book, the first of its kind on land law in Malaysia, is undertaken by two leading members of the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya. It seeks to provide practitioners, students and those in related fields with a basic source of up-to-date edited material on most of the major land law areas as well as to aid in the understanding and application of the various concepts and principles of the Malaysian Torrens System.
Land Law in Malaysia: Cases and Commentary contains the latest available material on land law including that of Sarawak and Sabah. Each chapter begins with a discussion of the relevant statutory provisions and cases. Each case reproduced in the chapter has been meticulously edited and is preceded by a principle of law for which the case is authority. The notes after the cases are designed to direct attention to the points of inquiry which might otherwise be overlooked and to suggest solutions to the various issues raised in the case law. References to important articles are found in the select bibliography given at the end of each chapter.
