Chidambaram Chandrasegar is an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore. He is presently practising as an Advocate and Solicitor at Gavan Law Practice LLC. He started his legal career with Freshfields (a leading City Firm in London) in 1982 and worked both in the London and Singapore offices of Freshfields. He left Freshfields in 1987 to join Johnson, Stokes & Masters, a leading law firm in Hong Kong. He is also a Solicitor of England and Wales, an Australian Barrister & Solicitor in New South Wales, and a Notary Public and Commissioner for Oaths. His practice area is centred on Corporate Banking and Finance, Capital Markets, Financial Services and Mergers and Acquisitions. He has advised several major clients in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong on a broad range of financial products and services as well as mergers and acquisitions (both public and private). He has also authored three leading books on Mergers and Acquisitions: Corporate Takeovers and Mergers in the United Kingdom, Singapore and Hong Kong (1987), Take-overs and Mergers – 1st Edition (1994) and 2nd Edition (2010). He also co-authored the Company Secretarial Practice Manual in Singapore.
