LEST WE FORGET

The book “Lest We Forget” attributed to all the writings contributed by Bala, is a classic. In his professional and literacy contribution, Bala had left nothing out: the book rightly and appropriately beginning with the different spheres of the Johore State Bar, and all that transpired historically through the years within that holistic professional body.

There is much to read in the opening eighty pages – history revived and the likes of Denning, Tun Suffian and HRH Azlan Shah brought to life. In another chapter, there is a Potpourri on Poets, Poems, Prose-Poetry, with a beautiful focus on Omar Khayyam underneath a photograph of John F. Kennedy! This is a beautiful write-up, opening the mind to a combination of poets to law, religion, love, women and wine- though not in that order!! It is the product of a complex mind but a mind that motivates the reader to analyse and rationalize.
