It is the first book of its kind comparing selected domestic and international standard form of building contracts. It is a complete compendium on construction law as practised in standard form of building contracts as follows:
Division 1: Historical Development of the selected Standard Form of Building Contracts This Division provides a general introduction based on the historical development, overview and comment on its practicality and popularity, etc of the selected standard form of building contracts. There is a discussion on the judicial interpretation and development pertaining to these standard form of building contracts.
Division 2: Selected Standard Form of Building Contracts are compared including PAM Form 2018, AIAC (2019), PWD 203A, CIDB (2000), IEM (2017), FIDIC Red Book (2017) and JCT (2016) This Division provides a comparative overview on the differences and similarities of the selected standard form of contracts. The PAM Form 2018 is used as the starting point and six (6) different standard form of building contracts are selected for comparison namely, AIAC (2019), PWD 203A, CIDB (2000), IEM (2017), FIDIC Red Book (2017) and JCT (2016).
Division 3: PAM Form 2018 compared with other selected Standard Form of Building Contracts This Division provides a detailed commentary of the PAM Form 2018 with comparison of relevant clauses of selected standard form of building contracts. It includes analysis, comments, observations and applicable legal authorities on PAM Form 2018 together with discussion on the differences and similarities among the other selected standard form of building contracts.
Division 4: Other clauses provided in other selected Standard Form of Building Contracts, not in the PAM Form 2018 This Division provides a detailed discussion of the key subject matters of the selected standard form of building contracts which are not found in the PAM Form 2018.
